Terms of use
The terms that apply to this website
Last updated 9 August 2026.
This site is operated by American Shipping International LLC ("ASI", "we", "us"), a freight forwarder in Elizabeth, New Jersey, holding Federal Maritime Commission Ocean Transportation Intermediary licence 026985 as both an NVOCC and an ocean freight forwarder.
By using asishipping.com you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the site.
1. What this site is for
Information and enquiry, not booking
This site exists so you can understand what shipping a vehicle or cargo involves, see where we load, and start a conversation with us. Sending an enquiry, a quote request or a message through this site does not create a booking and does not oblige us to carry anything.
2. Quotations
A quote is not binding until we confirm it in writing
Any rate, charge or estimate given through this site, by email or verbally is an indication based on the information available at the time. It is not a binding offer.
Rates in this trade move with the carrier, the vessel, the season, the lane and the dimensions and condition of the specific unit. A quotation binds us only when we confirm it in writing, and only on the terms and for the validity period stated in that confirmation.
3. The regulatory information published here
General guidance, not legal or customs advice
Parts of this site describe what customs, standards and border authorities require, at origin and at destination. Those pages link their primary sources and carry the date the claims were last checked.
That information is general guidance. It is not legal advice, customs advice or a compliance opinion, and it does not account for the facts of your particular shipment. Rules change, sometimes without notice and sometimes without the published guidance catching up, and the authority that decides is the relevant customs or standards body, not ASI.
Confirm the position for your shipment with us, and where the stakes justify it with your own adviser or your clearing agent at destination, before you commit money to a vehicle. We make no warranty that the information on this site is complete, current or free from error, and to the extent the law permits we are not liable for a decision taken in reliance on it alone.
4. Using the site properly
What you agree not to do
You agree not to use this site or the client portal to break the law, to interfere with its operation or security, to gain access to an account or system you are not entitled to, or to extract its content systematically for a competing service.
The client portal is for account holders. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity under your login. Tell us promptly if you think an account has been compromised.
5. Content and trade marks
Ours, and other people's
The text, layout, photography and design of this site are owned by ASI or used with permission, and are protected by copyright. You may read, print and share pages for your own use. You may not republish them as your own or use them commercially without our written permission.
Names, logos and trade marks of carriers, terminals, auctions and other third parties appear on this site to identify those parties and the services we book with them. They remain the property of their respective owners. Their appearance is not a claim of endorsement, sponsorship, partnership or agency, and should not be read as one.
6. Shipping services are governed separately
The carriage documents prevail over anything on this site
This is the most important term on this page. These terms of use govern the website. They do not govern the carriage of goods.
Any shipment we handle is governed by the applicable transport documents and agreements, which include our bill of lading and its terms and conditions, our tariff on file with the Federal Maritime Commission, any written rate or service agreement between us, and the mandatory law that applies to the movement.
Where anything on this website differs from those documents, those documents prevail. Nothing on this site varies, waives or adds to them.
7. Availability and third-party links
We do not promise uninterrupted service
We aim to keep this site and the portal available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access, and we may change, suspend or withdraw any part of them.
This site links to third-party sites, including regulators, carriers and our own portal. We do not control third-party sites and are not responsible for their content or their handling of your information.
8. Governing law and changes
New Jersey, and how you will know if this page changes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey and the applicable federal law of the United States, without regard to conflict of law rules. This does not displace any forum, jurisdiction or choice of law provision in the carriage documents described in section 6, which continue to govern the shipment itself.
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed, and using the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
How we handle personal information is set out separately in our privacy policy.
