Vehicle Export Guides

Written from the regulations

Straight answers about exporting a vehicle from the United States

These guides are written from the regulations themselves. Each one links its primary sources, records where those sources disagree, and carries the date its claims were last checked.

Where you deliver

Loading ports and their document requirements

Requirements differ terminal by terminal, and by carrier at the same terminal. How many copies of the title, how many copies of the dock receipt, whether a TWIC card is needed at the gate, and what hours the terminal receives.

Check the terminal you are delivering to before you set off, and confirm the current position with us: terminal requirements change, and a wasted trip with a vehicle on a trailer is an expensive way to find out.
